Remote Access Vehicle Server

To truly create your own one of a kind vehicle you can access remotely, you'll have to get your own personal private key. We will walk you through that process right now.

Step 1: Go to tx-gear.com/dns/ and click the blue button that says "Generate". Copy that number. You can also highlight it and hit "Ctrl C" on your keyboard to store it to your clipboard.

Step 2: Inside your vehicle, is a script called, "REC Basic Vehicle Script Engine Config 3D10.xx" Open it and scroll down to line 23. You will see this,

"RemoteAcessKey=",

Put your cursor just after the = sign and paste in your private key you got at the website. Or hit "Ctrl V" on your keyboard. Once you do that the line should look like this.

"RemoteAcessKey=57df95c1-b413-b8f3-65bb-8ecfde00af15",

(NOTE: This key is also stored in your RAVS description).

Then click "Save" at the bottom of the script window and close the script.

Step 3: Once you have done that, locate your Remote Access Vehicle Server (RAVS) on your vehicle. it is more than likely under your hood, or in another place your builder should have specified. Click it and watch Local Chat and you should see a message just for you with another key in it. That is your Remote Access Key for your Keyfob. We'll Show you how to put that in too, it's easy. Copy that key or highlight it and "Ctrl C" again.

Step 4. Wear your Keyfob, it will go lower left, or some other such place your builder should specify on your screen. Click the red center button on your Keyfob and you will see a menu pop up with many buttons, click the one that says, "Enter Key" and you will get a textbox to Paste in or "Ctrl V" the key you copied out of local chat. Once the key is in the textbox, click submit and you are finished. You will note your key in hovertext temporarily above your Keyfob.

You may now exceute the functions in the Keyfobs menu, on your vehicle, from anywhere on the Grid. Meaning, you can be on one sim and your vehicle on another and you can always find it, start it stop it, lock it, etc. Red center button on Keyfob pulls up the Menu, any black area can be clicked for PANIC mode. See below for more into on that.

MORE INFO: All actions are confirmed via Instant Message by the server. If you do not see a confirmation, then you are not connected. Click the Remote Access Vehicle Server (RAVS) and compare that key with the one in your Keyfob under (Enter Key).

Note: Occasionally, you may lose connection if multiple of the same vehicle are rezzed. Clicking the Remote Access Vehicle Server (RAVS) will always get you the Keyfob key you should be using with that particular vehicle.

Menu Functions:

(Eject Everyone) Kicks bums out of your vehicle, all of them.

(PANIC) Turns on headlights and a loud alarm sounds.

(Listen) Local chat listener around your vehicle (Goes to your IM)

(Enter Key) For Setup or Re-Setup purposes or to see your current key.

(Lock/Unlock) Locks or unlocks the vehicle.

(Neutral / Park) Toggles neutral and park modes - usually for towing companies.

(Die / Delete) PERMANENTLY deletes the vehicle. Not to Trash, Gone. Use with caution. (it will prompt you in local chat - just in case you clicked it accidentally)

(Locate) Will query the vehicle and instant message you a Map Link directly to it. (LoJack)

(Remote Start) Remotely start or stop the vehicle.

(Headlights) Turn headlights on or off.

You should leave the Config line referring to the key blank so the system will prompt them to get a key if they attempt to use it without one.

RAVS also stores the key in its description, ensure that is wiped.

You should also leave the Keyfob with a blank key by clicking (Enter Key) in Keyfob menu and putting in a 0 and hitting submit.

That way, your buyer is sure to follow the instructions above and get their own access keys.
